Good Morning and welcome to Issue 1006 of Exchange Invest Daily.

Prosperity UK Panel – Brexit, Euro Clearing & Financial Market Structure: panel ably chaired by Barney Reynolds headlining parish luminaries Jeff Sprecher and Michael Spencer, with one Patrick L Young lurking in the background – perhaps the ‘hot button’ parish topic in derivatives of the moment…

In Today’s Exchange Invest

Today in Exchange Invest, usual Euro protectionist hubris from Europe’s minority financial centres while the Swiss… Continue reading

Welcome to Issue 1005, which corresponds with the chassis number of a Ford GT40 raced through the 1960’s, then used as a road car until the mid 1970’s before reaching George Walther (father of Salt famed for his fiery Indycar crash). Anyway the GT40 itself was burnt in a fire and somehow rebuilt despite being buried in the rubble for some years…

RIP Chris Keith a man who juggled genius with delightful eccentricity (as anybody subjected to the office opera snippets – Chris was a keen composer – will recall). In the parish, Chris Keith made a remarkable impact on the nascent exchange technology stack in line with various other pioneers, such as Rory Collins, Chris’ counterpart at ASX who also died earlier this year. RIP to an original in New York’s markets.

A delightful long weekend, albeit shame that Ferrari gerrymandered… Continue reading

Welcome to Issue 1003 of Exchange Invest which is sandwiched between Ascension Day and Memorial Day (with the French clearly not troubled by turning up on a ‘pont’ day). Actually Monday is a UK Bank Holiday too so I’m going to have a day off your daily benchmark resource for exchanges too, back Tuesday…

MAY 25 2017

A very Happy Ascension day to one and all. Incredibly despite being popular across much of Europe (and naturally a lot of ‘ponting’ is taking place in the parts where they rarely translate “work ethic” into the local lingo), it seems not to be a holiday in Malta…

Old habits die hard, but instead of looking at Weissach’s finest today, over to Maranello where issue 1002 corresponds to the magnificent in the ex-Scuderia Montjuich Ferrari 512M chassis number which amongst… Continue reading

Hello and welcome to Issue 1001 of Exchange Invest. To celebrate yesterday’s modest milestone, I published a post on LinkedIn last night briefly describing the history and development of this very newsletter. Lest you are interested in “back stage” discussion about Exchange Invest you can read it here.

Good Morning and welcome to Monday’s Exchange Invest. It’s Issue 999…smart money may now even be banking on a big figure change (apart from the HFT fraternity who naturally see a million milli-chances before we have to actually change a big digit).

At the same time, our delightful 900 series review of many of the greatest Porsche models has now alas, concluded… I’ll miss it too. Thanks for all the feedback throughout – pics of readers’ Porsches and those spotted… Continue reading

MAY 19 2017

It will disappoint many correspondents that there is (sort of) a Porsche 998. The number was first deployed for the design of what became the 911 series successor to type 997. However, given the weight of parish correspondence, predominantly from the UK, it would be remiss of me to omit from correlating this issue with a great British engine! 998 is indeed the cc of the engine used in all manner of wondrous machines from Mini Coopers (and indeed the… Continue reading

MAY 18 2017

Welcome to Issue 997 of Exchange Invest which coincides with the 6th generation 911 in Porsche type number terms… All human life can be easily divided in 2 by the way: the time before you drive a Porsche 911 (of whichever vintage) and the time after….it’s a kind Zuffenhausen Zen experience.

I am Finance Malta’s 10th anniversary conference today, my keynote is coming up this afternoon just before the finance minister, Professor Scicluna provides the closing address. I’ll be running… Continue reading
